One of the most incredible and memorable moments in British Urban Music history happened a few days ago as BBK’s Skepta was joined by OVO’s Drake as they joined Section Boyz on stage to well and truly put the sword to the nonsense that is the BRIT’s.

You all probably know how i feel about the BRIT’s and if you don’t, read this. Well on the night of the farcical award ceremony that celebrates those within the industry as opposed to those that effect the culture of music, Grime made the power move to end all power moves.

Just a few hours after whining up on Rihanna on stage at the BRIT’s, Drizzy surprised everybody…EVERYBODY by joining Section and Skeppy on stage, showing the power of the counter culture and the love he has for the Grime scene.

There has been much speculation about the lack of cultural and racial diversity at the BRIT’s, probably best summed up by the at times genius Sian Anderson’s piece for Fader in the last few days, which you can and should read HERE and this happening… this thing… this phenom was probably the best embodiment of the power that Grime yields and the disrespect it is shown by the mainstream as Drizzy emerges from a huddled crowd to a spazzed out crowd, declaring his love for the UK, Grime and most of all, BBK.
