Hollywood stars Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith have a son called Jaden Smith who is now 17 and today he was revealed as the new face of Louis Vuitton WOMENSWEAR Spring / Summer collection.
The campaign shot of him posing with three female models in the luxury brand’s spring campaign, dressed in a skirt has received mixed reviews.
Jaden has been known for his eccentric, genderless fashion choices for quite some time now, with him, earlier this year revealing on Twitter, that he’d just purchased numerous skirts for himself from high street brand Topshop.
Gender has been a hot topic in fashion for the last few seasons, so it didn’t come as a surprise that Louis Vuitton had approached Jaden Smith who is known for his gender-neutral fashion choices to appear in the latest campaign.
We think he is a bit too young to be dressing in women’s clothes and it making a impact against the gender gap. We can see why Louis Vuitton would select him as the face to support the cause as he has been wearing women’s clothing for a while now. However, isn’t there enough pretty women in the world to select from to lead the womenswear campaign?
And what is the real issue with women wearing dresses and skirts and men wearing jeans/shorts/and trackies?… Why fix something that isn’t broken?
We think this ridicules Jaden Smith TBH.
The collection is not yet available for purchase.
